We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our new Head Coach, Summer Hendricks, to our Savoy Fitness family! Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Summer as we embark on an exciting new chapter in our journey toward success.
Summer brings an impressive background in coaching and a proven track record of achievements in the field. Her wealth of experience, strategic thinking, and passion for mentoring and developing individuals make them the ideal leader for our team.
We are incredibly excited to help her and myself identify, hone, and tap into her natural talents expressed via the Myer's Briggs Personality Assessment and Strengths Finders assessment.
Summer will be onboarding with me for most of June, learning the ins and outs of the HC role. Please introduce yourselves, share your thoughts, and offer any assistance as we come together to support Summer and the team on this incredible journey.



Even though regular alcoholic consumption can increase anxiety levels and help pile on the pounds, some alcoholic drinks may be better than others.
If you are in social environments this summer and must grab a drink, some alcoholic beverages may be better than others. That’s because they disrupt blood sugar less, are less likely to aggravate the symptoms of a hangover, and are lower in empty calories.
Coach Brittany, who also doubles as the BEST bartender in the world, has put together a mini video series to find healthier, lower-calorie drink options that will be released every few weeks. To clarify, we want our clients to avoid drinking as much as possible and honestly not do it at all, but for those that do and will continue to do so, we would like you to choose healthier options.

Deadbugs are a popular core exercise that offer several benefits. Here are some of the key advantages of including deadbugs in your fitness routine:
✅ Core strength: Deadbugs primarily target the muscles of your core, including the rectus abdominis (six-pack muscles), transverse abdominis, and obliques. By performing deadbugs regularly, you can strengthen these muscles, leading to improved stability, better posture, and reduced risk of back pain.
✅ Improved spinal stability: Deadbugs require you to maintain a stable spine throughout the exercise. This helps develop the deep stabilizing muscles of the core, which support and protect your spine during movement. By enhancing spinal stability, deadbugs can contribute to a healthier and more resilient back.


We have done a significant bathroom upgrade!
We have replaced the lockers that nobody uses with a toiletry Station in the men's and women’s bathrooms.
We want to give a massive shoutout to Coach Summer for this idea of toiletries, as we want to keep our clients clean and happy! Also, thanks to Tina Raes for suggesting this to me a few months ago.




Here is the calendar of events for July 2023:
1. On July 3rd, Coach William will announce the Summer Shred 28-day Nutrition Challenge winner.
2. This July 12th, bring your friend to class so they can learn more about our program and try out a class. It is only for our Bootcamp classes - 9 am, 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm.
3. Spend your Saturday night with us on July 22nd, at Louisville Bat's Stadium for some fun and games

4. Lastly, we are excited to announce that we will partner with buildOn from April through June! Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of those in need. Every check-in or review will help fund life-changing surgeries for people in need. #ChangeALife




Our main focus for July is going to be our 8-week Oly cycle. It will begin AND end with a 1RM Snatch + Clean & Jerk. In between, we will work speed under the barbell starting from the High-Hang Position and gradually working our way down to pulling from the floor. We will also partner these days with Clean or Snatch Pulls to continue to develop strength/ awareness of these movements from different positions. To complement this cycle, we will also see the Front Squat alternate once a week.
Our other focus will be around our “anaerobic capacity” stimulus…and all you need to know here is we will be working shorter sprint-style workouts to work on pushing your limits! This is going to be a great month of training…so let’s get to work!
